We are thrilled to showcase NINI ART, the visionary works of NINI, a volume-up artist and psychiatric case manager. An autodidact who began painting at 27, NINI found her calling while living in Holland, where nostalgia for her homeland of Curacao—especially her birthplace of Bandabouw—sparked a powerful creative journey.
Her art reflects her deep connection to her culture, from the traditional kunuku houses and vibrant lizards to the rhythms of tambú music. Painting has become her outlet for emotional balance, allowing her to process memories from her 35 years away.
NINI’s distinctive style blends figurative expressionism with abstract elements, capturing the fragility of life’s experiences. She draws inspiration from culture, nature, and the resilience of women, utilizing various mediums, including acrylic, oil, and found materials.
In March 2024, a significant milestone was achieved when NINI's artwork was acquired by Museum TULA, where it is now permanently displayed in the Abolition Room—a dream come true for this talented artist.
Join us in celebrating the profound emotional journey that NINI ART offers, inviting viewers to connect deeply with the essence of life.
